  • Thanks but im getting.more and more confused. When i originally called the helpline I was told that because of the income drop in 11/12 i should use that estimate....... So you are saying that thia is now wrong? And i will have an overpayment?? Even though thats what i was told to do? If i cant find my paperwork can.they get my.figures from tax office directlt?

No, it's right, but your estimate was wrong. Too late now, but if you give an estimate you should phone them as soon as you realise your estimate is likely to be wrong, otherwise you could have an overpayment. (Though in some cases you could have an overpayment even if you tell them straight away! - but it's always worse if you don't tell them straight away).
  • Thing is .........the company was dragging.its heels with regards to what it was going.to do so until recently i still wasnt sure if contract hours would change or evwn if i would still have a job tbh

under those kind of circumstances or even for anything to do with tax credits i would advise to over estimate. at least then you get a nice bit of an extra payment, but whats done is done, but defintely dont leave it any longer.
