It's quite honestly a joke medical!!!

The doctor went though the history of the incident (mine was an industrial accident), what medication I was taking and who was I seeing for the injury, then said thank you for coming!! End of.

Here is the best bit - the report that was accepted by the DWP said that:
    1. The doctor had never heard of Lithium being used to treat a mental illness.
    2. The injury happened 9 years previously and I should have recovered by now.
    3. If there is still a mental illness currently, then it must have been caused by something more recent and had nothing to do with the original incident.

    I failed!!!

Mind you I applied last year to have that decision (made in 2004) overturned. I sent a full file of medical records and reports dating from 1995 to 2011 from the CMHT, the hospital were I was sectioned, all backed up with Psychiatric reports.

ATOS had no choice but to accept that their 2004 report was a load of rubbish and the DWP awarded me IIDB in September 2011 - 40% from Jan 2004 to Jan 2014.
Mind you I only received a very small part of the backpay - £793 instead of the 7 years they actually owe me - £20,000!!!
