with all due respect my earnings for a north east wage are very good. Have you seen the jobs and salaries on offer up here lately?

I hardly think £2400 on a credit card is living above my means - how can you make this assumption without knowing anything about me or my circumstance?

My car died on me in April and I bought a used car for £1300 and we have re-decorated the house and landscaped the garden. It was planned debt which I am now paying off. I'll be cashing in £850 of shares as well to assist.

This is meant to be a helpful forum not one for pompous judgemental people to make stupid assumptions.

Check your junk folder if you've given them an email address.

I hadn't heard anything (which I found odd) but discovered the email had landed into my junk folder with the approval and credit limit.

Nothing in my junk folder although I do clear it out regularly without paying much attention to what's in it.

Still no letter through the post either.

Sat on hold for ages last night so gave up and eventually send an online enquiry.

    Will see what happens.

After ringing 3 times to speak to an advisor 1st time the caller said the applications system was down, 2nd advisor hung up on me, 3rd advisor took no details and said a letter would be sent out.

Received a letter the next day advising my application has been unsuccessful.

No British call centre staff to speak to and disinterested poor customer service from India. Am thankful for being rejected. Really put me off their service
