Hi guys, I'm looking for a new laptop and am rather confused as to why lots that I look at don't state the processor speed  Is there some code for it that I don't know about?

Lenovo Energy Management extends your battery life, increasing the amount of time you can go unplugged when you're out and about.
The Lenovo G580 laptop's OneKey Rescue System gives you easy data backup and recovery, so you don't have to worry about losing important files and data.

I know in the grand scheme of things this post isn't a life or death situation, but I would really, really appreciate any help with this from you clever people.

If you're asking about CPU's the Lenovo has Intel Pentium B950 @ 2.10GHz with a relatively low benchmark of 1951 about half way up the range of mid-range processors

The HP G6-1371 is made with different CPUs, the "sx" version has the Intel i5 2450 2.5GHz processor (passmark 3587). The "ea" version has an 2.2 GHz Intel Pentium B960 (Passmark 2091).

So you need to find out which HP model you're looking at.

Secondly both models will do what you want, Lenovos have a better overall reputation. The better processors will always stand you in better stead for longer even though all will do the job today.

Thanks robmar0se for taking the time to reply. I have to admit that I do not even begin to understand what it all means :o

I believe the HP is the 'ea' version.

I am now also looking at this one which is 2.4, but less ram and smaller hard drive?

All three are reasonably good enough for most users unless you're into serious 3d gaming (facebook games should be ok although some of those complex farming games seem to slow down many computers!). The first two models you list have slightly lower spec CPU but more memory than the i3 model. All have fairly basic onboard intergrated graphics.

If you want the purple one then get it!

        Thanks spannerzone!

I'm well over the farm games, I'm more of a bejewelled and solitaire kind of girl :D

Just to make me feel better about buying the purple one, will the 0.2 difference make too much difference to the speed?
