3 wheeler car insurance

I'm having a bit of a problem.
I've bought a 3 wheeler that I've owned at some point in the past (for considerably less than I sold it for :money:) and I'm having a nightmare getting insurance (!)
The broker we used n the past has been sold to Swinton in 2008, who don't want to touch it with a barge pole.
Any ideas anyone?

ETA: It's a homebuilt car, based on a 1976 'P' Mini, with an MG Metro engine, and if I remember rightly, it was costing about £200 to insure in 2006.
It's on Spanish plates atm (and on Spanish insurance), but never officially exported, so is in the process of being re-registered in my name. Once insured, I'll need to get some plates made up, and we're good to go!

Dont see why the 3 wheel aspect will be a problem, the fact it is a custom build is the challenge. If you google "custom built car insurance" you will find a number of providers that do these and kit cars0

thank you!
I'm aware that this is a bit of a specialist one and that there's not a lot to compare. I've had a loving word with Adrian Flux this afternoon, who have managed to get me under the £300 mark, so this may be the way to go!
