If it doesn't work rummage in your purse and realise you have "forgotten your bank card/cash" and you are very sorry but could they put them back for you.

Better still, just be honest - well mainly honest.

I have picked up the 'wrong ones' and when the total didn't come to the ultra-low figure I was hoping for, just said.
"Sorry, must have picked up the wrong ones. Can I cancel this please?"

I had a very helpful sa today who already knew about the glitch and didn't mind me playing about with different minitures until I got a combination which worked.:T
Then again, there was no other customers, so it was not as though I had a huge queue behind me ;)

I must admit it is confusing about which ones work and which don't.
I have had some £3.99 and £5.49 ones work, yet other £5.49 ones didn't.

Don't forget they are liquid and you can't take much in hand luggage!

I think generally it doesn't matter how many you take, as long as each container is no more than 100ml.
Probably as a total the small clear plastic bags will hold about 1 litre - but I have never known staff check/count exactly how much you have in hand luggage...... unless anyone working at the airports know any different ?

"The new rules stipulate that the plastic bag must not exceed one litre capacity per passenger - that’s around half the size of a standard A4 piece of paper and it must be sealable. The bag can contain two or more items of less than 100mls/100g each but must not be cluttered to allow security officers to carry out thorough checks."
  • Thanks for posting. Just tried it and went through at the glitch price, she said "that's £5.49" so got my card out then she noticed how cheap it was and ummed and ahhed for a bit, then called the manager over who was umming and ahhing for a bit then told her to put them through 2 at a time. Grrr! My plan was to say I'd forgotten my card if it didn't work but as she didn't notice the price straight away I had already got it out.
Was trying desperately for an excuse to say I didn't want them but by this time a big queue had built up and everyone was staring:o so I just paid for them!

Will try and take them back though, not spending fifteen quid on some tiny bottles of sunscreen!:D

Thanks anyway OP, is a great deal.
