Google Play deal no good

Just received the MSE newsletter with the 1p deals from Google Play.

For a start there is no way (I can see) to search for 1p deals and when I did find a 'deal' it showed as 1p in the search listing but when I clicked through it was a much higher price - "Modern Javascript".

Would be nice if this worked!

Yeah this seems to be an unintentional glitch rather than an offer. I actually clicked on one at 1p and it failed, then a few seconds later it was full price again.
  • i clicked on it as it shows 1p then it shows £23.39!
  • I've tried buying online and with my Android phone. If you use teh search facility you'll find the books listed at 1p but when you try to buy, they become full price.

System error or cynical attempt at getting people to buy things at full price? No idea, but I did ask Google that question. Whether I'll ever get an answer ...

The deals worked for me last night. If you use Facebook I'd suggest liking Martin Lewis and this site on there as they send out a preview mail on there to ask people to check for errors and stuff which gives you a sneak preview and head start on deals like this

Cool, I'll do that now. Shame about those deals though...
  • The issue I have is that when trying to buy online, while the price is still showing 1p it states: "By clicking Continue you agree to these terms of service"

So having agreed to their terms of services they go and change the price. Is that legal?

    BTW great tip re Facebook
