Build a website

I've checked if the domain name I want is available and it is so know I just need to know how to go about doing it
I can do it through vista print who will also do matching business cards, website etc, but they charge a fee of £7.97 a month with an email address
Is this any good or should i look else where
Thanks very much for taking the time to read this

It really depends on what you would like to do with the website, or achieve from the websites presence.
You can use packages like Wordpress and you have full control over all of the content and extra features like security and a backup facility.
If its just a static site that will never change then it might be worth getting something professional done and pay a one of fee. Any images obtained can then be used to print your Business cards etc.
It all depends what you want the site to do...0 -
If you know nothing about creating a website, then something like the one VistaPrint offers may do the job for you. I haven't used it, but it looks like you get hosting and a website you manage yourself, using one of their templates.
If you're more comfortable doing it yourself, or know someone who will do it for you, you could register your own domain and get hosting which supports something like WordPress (which you can use to build your own site with just a little effort) for around £30 per annum. You have more freedom with this option, and save money, but do have to understand what your are creating a bit more.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. I don't really know how to go about building a website and no idea about hosting so perhaps I should just go with vista print as they do everything,
My partner used vista print a few years ago to make a website and I put all the info in and pics that he needed but just wondered really if there's a cheaper and easy alternative
I only want it to be able to show the different types of party packages that I offer and to have an email address relating to my business name
I won't be altering it very often only if I start to offer new services
Do you think all business need a website to advertise cos I was going to set up a face book group as well:TIf your happy and you know it clap your hands :T0 -
If you're happy with VistaPrint then go with that. They're not the cheapest, but not outrageous and do seem to give good service, so long as you don't mind being bombarded with emails of special offers for things you've just bought at less than you paid.
A web site is pretty much considered a requirement these days, but a facebook group could quite easily generate more business for you, so definitely go for that, as it's where people seem to hang out and socialise more than the real world.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. I don't know really that's why I asked the question, they are the only one I have heard of and do matching business cards etc to the website design
I'll look into the others suggested, I just want a simple to use website and easy to change to what's want, also I need one that offers an email address as well:TIf your happy and you know it clap your hands :T0 -

That's how VistaPrint are able to market it at the price they do. It's part of a complete deal that pretty much ties you into them for everything.
It's the easy solution, but by no means the only one. You could get the same for less, but it will take more effort and know-how.
You say you want one that offers an email address as well - just about any hosting company offers that. You register a domain and take hosting, often with the same company, and you have your email, usually with multiple addresses on the same domain should you want them. It allows you to look bigger than you are, with things like sales@mydomain.co.uk, office@mydomain.co.uk etc.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
