Can unemployed apply for 0% cc ?

I have some cc debt £2400 and £400 on 2 cards. Both are charged interest. My partner lost his job and my self employed work has almost dried up. Is it possible to apply for a new card with 0% interest while receiving benefits? I didn't think it was which is why we haven't looked into it before. But we are paying a lot in…

Thank you all for posting - I have taken all the opinions and advice on board.
I'd also like to thank everyone who posted private messages to me. They were all helpful and informative.
I will continue to assess my situation and look out for the best options for my reducing the interest as much as possible.
