Scottish Power offer not as advised by Martin

Beware if you’re thinking of uSwitching to Scottish Power as Martin’s “urgent” offer in his Newsletter received at 11am this morning.
In this, it was claimed that only if you used MSE’s “special uSwitch comparison link”, and before midnight Thursday, you would “get £40 cashback + wine (worth £35)”.

As it coincided with my intention to switch fuel suppliers to a dual supply, I clicked on the link and went through all Scottish Power’s questions after calculating my annual usage etc, and reached page 4, which raised a couple of questions, including enquiring about having seen no mention of this cashback + wine offer so far.

First of all, Amish of uSwitch advised me that the wine offer had finished! 2 hours after MSE’s e-mail and 35 hours before the expiry deadline! When I persisted, he told me he’d have to speak with his manager.

He came back to advise me that the wine offer was still available but since then I confess to forgetting what the manager said about the cashback offer. I just recall that there was still something negative about the final response.

Anyway, I have just spoken with another member there and she has confirmed that using MSE’s link, you will get the £40 cashback AND the wine.

So I thought I’d still post this after such muddled advice and because you might have to wait for up to three months to see either benefit and might want to keep their promise in mind after such a long interval!

To give Scottish Power their due, they ARE offering me a dual fuel saving of £233 which is not to be sneezed at.

PS: I should have changed my original thread heading since getting this final advice as it is now not strictly accurate! I entered it i the heat of the moment after hanging up from SP! Apologies.
