Almost certainly they will not give a refund and you will have to pay the whole years insurance, so if you are paying monthly you will have to pay the balance.0

Thanks
So my best bet would be to wait until i need to renew my insurance that way i wont owe them owt and may even get deposit back

Normally your initial payment on an instalment scheme is just the first few months' premium - so you are unlikely to get anything back at the end IMHO. There's no point at all switching insurers during the insurance year that you have an accident.0

thanks again
I am going to wait till renewal date

did you declare the accident on your new quote? I'd look at them again at renewal time0

Well when i applied it said
(have you made any claims in last 3 years)
i said no because i have not made any claims
Although when i applied for another insurer i had to tell them about the accident because it said
(Have you regardless of fault had or made any claims in last 3 years)
so i had to say yes.
they asked for the truth

The short answer is yes i'm afraid. You've entered itnto a years contract for insurance cover which you pay monthly, not to have insurance on a month to month basis, therefore you will have a contractual obligation to pay the outstanding premium.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0
