Call from the bank asking for more information on my ppi claim?!?!

I recently sent off a ppi claim on a credit card that i currently hold with Halifax. That was 4 weeks ago, however I received a phone call from the bank last week asking for further information regarding some of the things i detailed in my complaint. I answered all the questions as honestly as possible and was told it was very helpful and that the information would be used to help make a final decision on my case.
I was just wondering if anyone else had this happen to them and if so how long was it before you heard back from them with a final decision?

It is quite normal. it indicates yours is not going through on an auto payout process but they are investigating it fully. It would suggest that you are close to a response.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

What kind of things did Halifax ask you? My mum has had a similiar call today - she has asked them to call her back tonight when I am with her........ would be nice to be tad bit prepared......
and were you sucessful?0 -
They'll ask for confirmation of information specific to your complaint. So have a read through what you've sent them to familiarise yourself again with the details.sharonfrancis wrote: »What kind of things did Halifax ask you? Leese16's complaint was upheld in August, but every complaint is dealt with on it's own merits-so this is irrelevant to your circumstance.0 -
Thanks!
the key complaint is it being front loaded. i have heard that some companies have said that it is OK to front load - I have read the forum again and if they say this - my question will be is it OK to charge double interest on a loan (PPI and loan interest)
is that an OK response?0 -
They won't try to trap you by criticising your complaint. They'll just want a reiteration or clarification of what you've written.sharonfrancis wrote: »Thanks!

yes thanks for that! Just to ease everyone it was painfree!
They asked how much my mum's redundancy package would have been
what benefits she got from work - sickness / pension
whether she had any savings
how much the limit was on her credit card.....
think that was it.........
more interested in getting her loans PPI paid out.... that will be the biggy!0
