From my personal understanding the severe element is in the child tax credits. You get the family payment, followed by a payment per child. Then follows disability and severe disability. You the person is awarded high rate care they are entitled to all of those elements.
I could be wrong but from what I read yesterday that's what it said.0 -
If some body is claiming Pension Credit, if they fulful certian criteria then they can have an extra amount added to the claim, increasing the money they get.

if the person is living alone and claims pension credit guarentte and know one claims carers allowncefor them and has less than a certain amount of savings then the severe disability prem is payable0

Thank you for all replies, i will check if mums gets the severe disability premium before I claim CA.
What amount is paid if she claimed the severe disability premium and how much in savings can she have to be eligible if its means tested.
If she is eligible for severe disability premium can it be back dated to when she first received attendance allowance?
No wonder older persons do not get what they are entitled too the system is so complex!!!!0
