£5 non DD Charge with Virgin Media

I have recently been moved over to Virgin Media from Telewest and they are now charging me an extra £5 on my bill if i do not pay by direct debit. Does anyone know if these charges are unfair?

Not sure about the fairness but my mum was on telewest now virgin and has always been charged something for not paying by dd. Think it was £4 on TW now £5 with virgin.

I believe they're unfair but VM are expensive for most things now. Their call charges are even more expensive than BT.
