I sold an Ipod touch 2nd Gen on ebay, as I have upgraded to a newer one. I got my daughter to restore it before sending it off to the buyer. I checked it before dispatch and sure enough there were no apps or any music on it. She said she did it via itunes on our PC, and has done it a few times before, so I trusted that she had done it correctly (I am not techy savvy, as you can guess)
The buyer emailed me to say that when they connect to itunes it asks for a password. I explained that I obviously could not give them my itunes password and directed them to a few websites so they could have another go at restoring it. They have returned saying nothing worked, and are claiming that it was not restored as promised in the ad, and that they now have a useless ipod and will now have to get someone at a stall to restore it....
Am I right in thinking that I HAD restored it correctly, and that the problem is the buyer (who it did cross my mind was after my itunes account details, or possibly just trying it on to get a refund). Could it be as simple as they need to imput THEIR password?
I do want to resolve this issue, and help the buyer if possible, but equally I don't want the wool pulled over my eyes. So would appreciate some techy knowledge on this issue.
Thanks
