Can I balance transfer partner's card to mine?

Planning on shuffling our finances. I have an RBS credit card with no balance on it - could I transfer the balance from OH's credit card onto it? Or can you only transfer a balance if both cards are held by the same person?

    I transferred a friends balance to a previous HSBC credit card of mine without any problems. What other companies are like, i do not know

    The card company will have no idea who is the owner of the other card, they simply send the other card issuer the £1000 or whatever you tell them to.

    Therefore you can transfer anyone's debt into your name but then YOU become 100% liable for that debt. Obviously if it is a husband then you'd imagine this isnt much of a risk but transferring a friends debt etc is potentially high risk because if they stop paying you you are the one that has to pay off the debt as there is no way to cancel/ reverse the transfer
