JSA & Heavily Pregnant

I am currently signing on but i am due to have a baby in October. How long would they have me signing on for? It's not that i'm ungrateful, we need the money! It's just that nobody in their right mind is going to employ me and the bump, even on a temporary basis.
We don't qualify for any other benefits as my partner earns around £17500. I've had my tax credits renewal which states we're not entitled to any this year, although i suspect we're due another update as i'm now unemployed (i did ring but they weren't helpful and couldn't tell me either way!)
If we really don't qualify for tax credits then i'm having to save as much as possible so that i don't have to sign on for Oct & Nov. I'll then have to start signing on again but with 2 children under 1 i'm struggling to find anything.
Before anyone says get money before having kids they most definately weren't planned!

To the negative posters, these kids will be paying our pensions. Far better that the benefits system support short term unemployment and encourages endeavour, rather that supporting second and third generation "lifestyle" choices. To the OP... Claim what you can and feel no shame... YOU are the reason we have a benefits system.0

And lets face it she has a working partner so will only get 6 mos at £71 Ppw and as a teacher paid from April - Aug this will be taxed.0

I wouldn't mind but i was working up until June and had to move away from work for childcare. If anything i think they should make people put more effort into getting their JSA. You turn up for 10 minutes twice a month and that's it!
It's nice to know there are people here who don't just judge everyone immediately. I do want a job and would like a good example for my kids. My partner does work full time but as we all know the price of everything is going up much quicker than wages.
Thanks Again!£2024 in 20240
