Hi we have been down to cornwall / newquay a few times stayed at the monkey tree and pentewan sands which we really enjoyed both but would like to try somewhere new!
We are a family of four have our own tent! childrens ages are 5 and 2 so night entertainment is a must! really good if beach is walking distance but not a must! please any advice, suggestions would be much appriaciated - Oh and we would like to go August 11th - 18th.
fingers crossed the weather will stay nice as i really wanted to go to france but crossings and campsites are too pricey

I like Crantock Beach, which is Parkdean. Small camp but very good quality, magnificent beach with sand dunes.0

i like Haven Perran Sands - the toursite part of the site is in the sanddunes with an adventure playground on the touring site.
Its a bit of a walk to the sea - but my kids were happy enough in the sand dunes and then we drove to Perranporth or some other beach when they wanted to paddle.

Porth Beach is right by the beach, but out of the mayhem. http://www.porthbeach.co.uk/0

We've got the exact same question as we are going down for 3 weeks in august. We've stayed at the Monkey tree and it is good. An ealrier poster said about Crantock beach and it is brilliant with dunes etc and you can still cross the small waterway and walk into newquay and to fistral beach which has the surf festival on in august i think.
The past three years we have stayed near Bude at a campsite called Sandymouth Holiday park. It has a good pool (only a small slide), nice clubhouse with evening entertainmnet that the kids love, a brilliant pirate ship playground with zip wire, bouncy castle, crazy golf and it is all included in the price. Last year there was a big climbing/abseilign wall and archery for more. It is about 3 miles outside Bude, half a mile from really nice beach (and if you are a national trust member you can park for free) and it is a lot less tacky/crowded than bude. Snag is the camping pitch is ona slight slope and if the wind blows you are pretty exposed. But if the weather is glorious you hae a great view of the sea and can see over to Tintagel etc. I think we are going to do a week here, head down to Crantock area for a week and then down to the lizard for a week. And last year the prices were dirt cheap like £18 for a family of 4 per night. Looking at website it is dearer this year (but I'm hoping it comes down!)0 -
We liked Monkey tree too. But I hated Haven... I just found it over priced and very busy.Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0
