Tesco Car Insurance problem and my reply. Re: Buying car back after total loss

Dear all,
Has anyone experienced this before?
In April someone banged into my car and Tesco determined this a total loss, they paid out and I opted to buy my car back. They said that this was the end of my involvement and they'd write to me once they'd reclaimed the money from the other insurer and the claim was settled.
I have since sold my car.
I have now received demands for the V5 and MOT. I explained on the phone that I didn't have these anymore due to selling the car. Tesco wrote to me and said it's an obligation of the claim to have these. They have paid me the money and that's in my account.
Out of frustration I have written this reply:
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thankyou for your letter dated 20th July 2012, following our telephone conversation a few days earlier. My stance of “I don’t have the documents anymore as I sold it”, is regrettably unchanged.
Your expectation of me to keep copies of these documents did humour me. I will pay the pension contributions of anyone in your office that can provide me with copies of a V5/MOT Certificate of a previously owned vehicle.
As I was not advised to do so I gave these documents to the new owner, as they and anyone else would expect.
Following receipt of your letter I have tried to obtain other sources of evidence with little success, I have tried to:
· Attempt wizardry
· Telephone someone helpful from the DVLA
Obviously both of these are fictional entities; however, whilst speaking to the DVLA they said that they can provide you with this evidence if you telephone from an insurance company.
Therefore I shall leave this matter in your capable hands.
For your convenience I have enclosed a documenting proving transfer of ownership.
I look forward to hearing from you again; I expect and anticipate this will be to confirm closure of this case.
Regards,
Can anyone recommend the next step or has experience this before?
Dave
