New Build Help - Brick Tinting? Acceptable?

me and my partener have recently viewed and put a deposit on a new developement of 6 houses. After seeing the show home we decided that it was just what we were looking for and put a deposit on it :j

fast forward 4 weeks and the house is about 2 weeks off build completion. On viewing the house I noticed a "U" shape quite obvious in the brickwork on the back of the building. On further inspection it looks like they have put in a large section of red brick in a wall that has red's, blue's and yellow's.

We have asked the developer regarding this and they are saying that they will blend the colour of the brickwork to match ? I can only assume that this is tinting but is it acceptable ?

I have been back in the last couple of days and they have tinted it but we can still see the odd pattern in the wall.

Do any of you guys know what might of happened and whether this is acceptable practice. We confronted the site foreman but he made himself scarce and when we did catch hold of him was almost denying all knowledge of it ?

many thanks for any suggestions or advice

Brick tinting is standard practice in the building game, basically the tinters come to site and paint the bricks to make them match the surrounding.
This issue sometimes comes about when the brickies use all the same bricks from the same pack. British Standard states that you should mix and match from 3 pallets of bricks therefore you dont get too much similarity in the same area.

To be honest, there is an element of "that's the beauty of bricks mate" because they are a naturally occuring product so you dont have finite control over the finished product.

Plus, after the coming winter the brickwork will have weathered so you wont see it nearly as much.

The alternative is to have the brickie remove the panel and replace with random bricks, not my idea of sensible as the wall will have to be propped, the insulation and cavity will be exposed to the elements for the period of remedials and you cannot guarantee the finish you will be left with as "that's the beauty of bricks mate" because they are a naturally occuring product.
