Hi guys,
We're about to launch an MP3 Download store i.e. Massively big music files will be downloaded each day with high bandwidth which would slow down the website if on the same server.
I've been looking at options and it looks like I could have a Application Server and separate File Server that I can constantly add drives to. I've administered my own Linux Centos server for years and it seems I will use NFS on a mount point on a folder to do this.
But how would that affect bandwidth and performance of my application server?
Someone also told me about Cloud servers such as Amazon. I'm wondering how you would mount those onto your application server.
I suppose the other main issue is what do you think the cheapest way to do this would be? Especially if I'm adding lets say 1TB of new data per month. Would you recommend the two servers be with the same company? What's the best way for this?
Any help much appreciated!

'Massively big' mp3 files..... ???
In what sense? Prog bands with 45-minute epics? Wagnerian Opera at 3.5 hours each?

Might be worth talking to one of the long-established CDN providers such as Akamai.0
