Broken fridge/freezer

Hi

I have had my fridge freezer an American Style LG fixed already twice in the last 3 weeks. Saturday it broke again completely defrosting everything in the freezer, everything had to be thrown away. Everything in the fridge will have to thrown later today as its been 3/4 days since the fridge freezer has worked.

Waiting for an engineer to come out, they don't lend fridges. On past experience if engineer turns up today, they will have to wait for parts so probably next week before its fixed.

How can I keep even some basics cool?

You can't, but surely you have insurance?, that's what it's for and you don't claim everyday.

If you don't then learn from this, sorry:(

Thank you JustTrying for a sensible answer unlike the post 2.

Engineer has just been. Its been written off. Got to wait for the insurance company to get back to me now with details of how/when/Where I can get a new one and to claim for the lost food.

Been lent a mini fridge:-) only holds milk, but that will do me. As long as I can have a decent cuppa nothing else matters.

As the auther of post#2, why do you find it non sensible when I suggest you claim off your insurance?
Maybe it needs putting in simlpler English.

Claim of your insurance if you have any

If you haven't, learn from this and get some for next
    time

It never ceases to amaze me, when those asking for help respond in such an agressive manner.

Good luck to OP claiming for a new fridge freezer

im wary about spending more than 300 quid on a freezer, they are too unreliable regardless of make/model

I think you are wrong, and I also think £300 is 3 times too much to pay for a garage freezer.

Give you a clue, MSE, no offence chap, it's simply about saving not spending money, they can be had for much less and really are supper reliable. They also have an easier life in the garage, no inflated winter temps to deal with out there.
