RANT! How does one stay sane when buying!!

Hi All,
Apologies, this is more of a rant than a question, but I'm sure y'all know how frustrating things can be...
We had an offer accepted on a house in mid-March, and the Seller found a house at the end of April. We have no chain, and the Seller is buying a chain-free house - you'd think it would be a straight forward move right?!
Afteer a number of small hiccups, which have been successfully gotten rid of, the Seller's solicitor is taking AGES (as in more than a couple of months) to send through the last couple of bits of paperwork - things are a tad more complicated because our mortgage provider is HSBC, but they have already been sent the majority of our documents by our solicitor.
How do I make the Seller's solicitor hurry the hell up! Our poor solicitor is being harassed on a frequent basis by us, the EA is harassing Sellers (he can smell his commission) and there is nothing more we can do...I know one has to be patient, but there comes a time when enough is enough!! We've stressed the fact that because of having to give notice on currently rented house (1 month) and to avoid duplicate houses at the same time, need to give notice soon to move at the end of August (LA are on my back, but that's a whole other story lol)
GAH! I know some of your horror stories are a total 'mare - but how does one stay sane when buying a house!
PS. Hope you are all enjoying the lovely sun

but how does one stay sane when buying a house!
Start out by accepting that it will not be straight forward.
It will take longer than you plan, expect, or want.
Remove yourself from the emotional aspect. Yup, it's going to be your new home, but put that aside and just deal with the crap as it arises, and meanwhile get on with your life.
And don't do it more often than once every 10 years!0 -

Great answer and so trueEasier said than done though
Far more stressful than children :eek:Addicted to MSE0 -
It might be worth seeing if you can contact the seller. I went through this last year, and it was only after speaking to the seller did we get things sorted. It put an end to the blame game and made the process and bit less stressful.
Good luck!0 -
Glad it's not just me feeling like this.
I posted earlier ranting about solicitors!
Sorry I can't offer anything else but a virtual hand shake to say I feel your pain.
I have already told my husband- NEVER AGAIN!!!!0 -
