Health insurance - working abroad

A relative of mine is currently working in China and his travel insurance policy expires in a week's time. Should he renew his existing policy, even though he won't be travelling anywhere other than back and for to work or is there a different/cheaper kind of insurance available that will provide the necessary cover?

His current policy states that he is not covered when working at a height above 3m and....
"Any claim that results from you doing manual labour in connection with your trade, business or profession, unless we have approved this."0
