We look forward with great anticipation to your many future additions to the saynoto0870.com database then Paul!
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Skype used to do this, until someone complained and they put a stop to it. Which is the company that provides this useful service?

I'm aware of them, but their service would be illegal in the UK. Isn't it odd that large firms with ISDN 30 connection get all the data with a flag not to display to the end user (ie us!), and the ability to 'write' their own presentation numbers, which we can't - yet a service to reveal misuse is deemed illegal?

    Makes you think.

Why? Any firm (Sky, Virgin, Bank etc) can view a withheld number AND they can see the underlying line number actually used to make the call. Until I ave up my ISDN line, I could do I too. No magic, no fuss.
