Warranty?

If I buy an item off a business seller on eBay that doesn't specify a warranty, am I legally entitled to a 12 month warranty like if I were to buy something in a shop?

Comments

  • A warranty is in addition to your consumer rights and only applies if offered and within the terms of the warranty.

How long ago exactly did you buy the item?

Typically you are covered under the Sale of goods Act for a reasonable amount of time but within 6 months of the sale date the seller would have to demonstrate the product isn't faulty.

What item was it and how much did it cost?

It was only about £10 but the business seller is quite abrupt and it's got to the point now where it's the principle of it

Without you saying what type of item it is, it's impossible to tell whether it's something which is reasonably supposed to last longer than 4 months or not.
