Do you understand what a troll is? You use that slang too often, not realizing when it's appropriate to label someone a troll.
I'm not bitter at all. I simply don't believe any employer is naive enough not to check references after OP makes up a reason. It's human nature to verify when someone starts making excuses. And this isn't about whether OP should get sacked. OP is a criminal, and deserves to be jailed or this habit will continue and one day OP might do something worse. Haven't you read statistics on criminal behavior? Usually someone commits theft on more than one occasion, and it later escalates to murder.
Let's hope OP doesn't meet any family members of yours. You're indirectly supporting OP's actions because you believe you can't be affected in any form or shape. Tut tut good sir.0 -

Well in my case - and I can ony speak about my case as I know all the facts - the company's cc was added to my amazon account as they wanted to buy something off there and I had an account.
A few weeks later I bought some off the site and without thinking used the card details as the previous purchase. Only afterwards did it cross my my mind that I had used the company's cc.
So whist it sounds stupid it was the truth .....of course knowledge of the staff concerned helps2014 Target;

This happened to one of my colleagues recently too. She'd completely forgotten about the office purchase and it wasn't until she was asked to provide the receipts by the accountant that she realised what had happened. Thankfully it was a nice office and the boss just laughed and ribbed her all day about it. I think they just knocked it off her expense claim that month, so they ended up ok.Data protection is there for you, not for companies to hide behind0 -
