One Call cancellation

I am positive this has been covered a zillion times but cant find a specific answer! Took insurance out via comparison website Jan 12 - myself and partner - we have separate homes but still 'partner' of many years. This apparently translated into the One Calls system as co-habiting so when they received our driving licences I was told that the underwriters will not insure people who dont live together so I could either take him off (£50) or cancel insurance. As he is only occassional user I took him off but requested they specify where in the underwriters policy it states this - never received. Wind forward to June - new job with train commute and therefore need for smaller car. Once car found (last week) I rang One Call - and for a smaller engine, older car my premium with existing insurer doubled to £600. I asked for a re-quote with my partner on - £460. I have since found the insurance for £250 like for like including my partner. Now here comes the cancellation bit! I have paid so far from a total of £330 ish a £50 admin fee plus £244 in payments and now they want over £120 in cancellation fees? For 7 mths insurance? Whilst I don't object to a sensible cancellation charge surely this is worthy of !!!!!! Turpin?
I know I signed on the dotted line but is there anyone I can complain to?

Yes.
Complain to One Call first using their complaints procedure.
When that is exhausted, and if you are still unhappy you can escalate this to the FOS.
See the policy doc for details of their complaints procedure.0
