Wall mounting a large basin

need some advise on best way to fix a large (800mm) wash basin to a stud wall.

The stud work comes out about 150mm from the sold wall.

I have been told i can use a fisher bolt but am not sure the max length of the bolts.

Any help or ideas on an alternate way to fix this would be helpful

    Been out working :D

Anyway, I wouldn't try this without having a noggin in the right place in the stud wall. No way would I hang a basin on just plasterboard. Neither would I try to use a very long bolt/rawlplug arrangement over what is not much better than a 150mm gap from the description given.

    Thanks Bob,

If i attach some lengths of 2x2 timber to the solid wall to essentially fill the void, can i screw/bolt into the timber?

    Hi

I would agree with bob property, not a good thing to put a basin on plasterboard wall put a dwang in the wall first and then fix in to this.

    experinced plasterer.

    good luck.
