Blackpool - Preston return question

I'll be undertaking training with the NHS for six weeks from the middle of August for my new job. My worry, as a non-driver, is how I am going to get to Broughton, Preston on time each day (8.45am) as cheaply as possible.
So far, I see my options as:
1. Train (from Blackpool North) and bus (number 40/41 from Preston Bus Station): £40 p/w for the train, £20 p/w for the bus
2. Bus (number 68, then 40/41) - will not get me to work on time, unfortunately, but when I get different shifts, it will cost me £93 per 4 weeks for two buses there and two back
3. Liftshare - I've advertised here but don't hold out much hope.
Any other options for either getting there or reducing the cost?
Thanks for any help.

Previously, Option 1 would have cost me £240 per 4 weeks in transport. I've just discovered I can get a season ticket for Blackpool - Preston for £120. This covers four weeks.
Then I can either buy a £37 4 week bus pass to get from Preston to Broughton (although I don't think this option covers Broughton) or a £54 4 week pass (which does cover Broughton).
This brings the total down to £174, a saving of £66. Still a lot on a pre-tax wage of £16k though...10 Ways to Spend All Your Student Loan In A Week0 -
It costs more than 174 quid a month to run a car for that journey - that's not expensive.0

Thanks. That's why I've never had a car. Until (if ever) public transport becomes more expensive for me, I never will either. I don't mind commuting time, I get things done I wouldn't do if I had the time at home.
You've validated my point though, helps my argument for 'no car' with my partner!10 Ways to Spend All Your Student Loan In A Week0 -

You could book your rail season ticket via a cashback site such as TopCashback.
Their FirstTransPennine link will earn you 1% of the cost back.
Every little helps!0
