Fiat Punto ELX 2002 - 71,000 Miles - Cambelt?

Hi all!

I have awful knowledge of car garage costs, and as my cars just passed the 70k mark, I'll be saving up to get the cambelt, timing belt and possibly water pump changed asap.

Cars a fab little runner, but as I have no history of these being changed, I'd rather do it before anything snaps!

Any ideas on how much roughly I would be paying? I've heard I should have a few different things changed, any idea on the specifics?

I have a local garage, but just want to know the sort of figures I should be looking at :)

Thanks!!

We can all guess a price (my guess approx £200) but best to call 3 garages for prices.

    Good luck.

8 valve around £120, 16 valve around £180, both including water pump.

Makes sense to get the water pump done as well as it's driven by the cambelt (which is the same thing as a timing belt ;) ) and shouldn't cost you any extra in labour.
