Hey all,
First post so be gentle!
On a monthly basis I work a budget to the pound taking into account all regular paymens all one of payments and a monthly grocery allowance. After this is all down on paper I am left looking at a positive balance of betweend £600/700. So this is a modest amount to travel and have fun with and even try and save a small amount.
My problem is that within a few days of payday I'm down to £300/400. Either my math is massively out or I am doing something wrong.
Can any please help with ways to budget more effectively?
Thanks guys!

Have you tried using a spreadsheet to help with the maths? OpenOffice is free to download if you don't have anything.
Are you taking out just what you have budgetted, or just spending on a card? If the later, you should easily be able to find out where the money has gone. If the former, then you need to start writing down where your spending your cash on a daily basis.0 -
post up your income and your budget and so we can have a look at it.
and of course start a spending diary and write down absolutely everything you spend... tomorrow is a good day to start0 -
Hey guys,
Thanks for the reply.
I transfer all income to a savings account on payday. I them move only required money to pay bills and then move money for a weekly "spending" budget. Bus travel etc.
It just all seems to be slipping through my fingers.
Will post budget details tomorrow as once on pc.
Thanks again.*Witty comment coming soon*0
