downloading onto an MP3 - how on earth do I do it?

Stupid question but then technology is not my thing.

I bought a little MP3 player recently. I managed to transfer music by dragging music that was on my pc that someone had downloaded for me onto the mp3. However, I want to download language classes from the web and put them onto the MP3 and I have no idea how to do it.

I can click on downloadable MP3s and then play them on my pc but is there a way that I can save them and then transfer them using my drag method (if that makes sense). I tried to drag over what was saved on my media player into the MP3 icon thing and that didn't work.

Anyone able to offer any advice? Thanks in advance.

Why do you have to drag; can't you just copy and paste?

if its a downloadable mp3 link you could try right clicking the link "downloadable MP3s"
then save as

if you can play it hear it
Audacity a free Audio editor will record it

install the mp3 lame plugin
run Audcity select your soundcard / stereo mix / 2stereo
hit rec when hearing the mp3
when finished hit stop edit the file if needed then file export as mp3

if your using win7 this sometimes disables stereo mix on your soundcard etc
if stereo mix option isnt showing in Audcity you have to enable it in win7
