Safestyle composit door.

Hi, so today we decided to buy a Composite Door (Amersham) from safestyle.

You can check the website out, i cant give you the link as im a new user who may be a spammer.

I just watched this:

go on youtube, type "Palladio Door Security Test Video"

Now I must ask, are the safestyle composite doors really secure? The door in the video was cardboard for the most part, we don't want that.

Another thing i noticed, the sales rep mentioned a steel bar of some sort in the door but the cross-section of the door on the website makes no mention of this important feature.

Any help, advice or opinions will be greatly appreciated.

What i suspect you want is a door that meets:-

British Standard PAS 24-1 'Doors of Enhanced Security'

Aren't all these doors made to measure by just a few companies (globaldoor?). Get a local firm in, safestyle will no doubt be charging you the earth so they can afford to continue to run those god-awful adverts.

Just watched the video. Are your windows bullet proof also? If not, I'm sure that battering ram will work wonders on your windows... At the end of the day if somebody wants to get in that much, they will. However making that amount of noise, somebody is bound to notice and get the police involved... unless of course you're worried that its the police that are trying to get in?

It most certainly meets that, thanks.

I'm not afraid of anyone trying to kick the door in, its not a rough area, just want to make sure its a strong door we're buying. But it does cost around the 12 hundred but that includes a window we want done.

The one in the YT video seemed to be made of cardboard, but yeah, not much house thieves walk about with battering rams.

No problems with the police, they can visit any time

p.s I think Safestyle make their own doors, they claim its made in their own factories anyway.

You might want to look into bump keys & lock snapping (if they are fitting a euro lock).

Possibly won't apply but it doesn't matter if your door is armour plated if the lock is crufty.
