Which is the best? I believe 2 clubcard points = 1p....or is it 4 clubcard points = 1p for petrol:huh: but not sure about Nectar points?
I sometimes wonder whether to fill up at BP or Tesco.

1 clubcard point or 2 nectar points = 1p.
In store it works out the same total value as you earn 1 clubcard or 2 nectar points for each £ spent.
[STRIKE]Not certain what you earn on fuel but pretty sure it is per litre and not per £ so [/STRIKE]lowest pump price will almost always be best
Just looked and
Clubcard is 1p per £2 spent on fuel
Nectar is 0.5p per litre spent on fuel0 -
So it's similar then, good to know, thanks0

But you will be paying a good 6p or 7p a litre more at BP as opposed Tesco. That can never be offset by loyalty points.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

If you swipe a Tesco Clubcard Credit card at the petrol station, you get 1 point per £1, even if you pay with a different card or cash.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0

Not necessarily. I was recently in Hastings and noticed that Tesco was far from the cheapest in town. In fact the best price I saw was an Esso station next door to a Sainsbury's! BP does (like Texaco) always seem to be at the higher end of prices, but you can't take anything for granted in this racket.0 -
Petrol - Tesco Clubcard Points or Nectar Points
Neither, in my area at least.
ASDA is always a good few pence cheaper so points don't make up the difference.
However, Morrisons would be the best points card after ASDA.0 -
Where I live in St. Albans Sainsburys and Shell take turns being cheapest. So I use a cashback credit card plus a Nectar card or Shell Drivers card and buy the cheapest on the day. For some reason Diesel here is at least 2 pence cheaper per litre than any of the surrounding towns, even Asda. So unless I see a bargain, I try to fill up near home.
If you already shop in Tesco the double your points offers might work to your advantage, I don`t usually so stick to the local stations.

I think Nectar is 1 point for each litre of fuel, where tesco's is 1 clubcard point for each £2 spent isn't it, don't know which is best, but as we shop at sainsburys we get the fuel there too, unless a family member gives me a 5p off per litre of fuel to use there instead! Thanks to all the competition posters.0

If the fuel price is the same, Tesco points are better value.
If you're filling up at Tesco always squeeze in an exact £2 worth of fuel to get an extra point. At Sainsburys go to an exact number of litres.
If you don't use enhanced Clubcard rewards then Morrison's fuel card incentive will provide better value again.
Cheapest price should be the first consideration though.0 -
Clubcard points. Use them to pay for your RAC cover.0
