I've just had a new kitchen fitted and the new tap drips/dribbles for a good 7+ seconds after swiching it off. I queried this with the fitter and he says it's because of the design of the tap, which is this one....

The same thing happens to ours.
The tap spout is in the shape of a shepherd's crook and when you turn it off the crook part is full of water.
Atmospheric pressure holds the water in for a few seconds and then it releases and the water dribbles out.#
If it only happens just after you have used the tap that is the cause.
I do not know of a simple remedy.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
Thanks Ariba10, looks like style has prevailed over practicalities in the taps design, i would have chose a different one had I known!0

And so would we.
I am getting quite a bit of stick off the O H, especially as I fitted it myself.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
EXACTLY same designed as we had and this happened to us too - right pain in the bum it was. It would dribble out either 5, 10, 20 or or even 60 seconds later and very annoying
We were told it was the design of the tap and a certain amount of water is retained and after a while just falls out.
We exchanged it in the end of a different design.0 -
this happens to ours too, in our new build flat so we didn't get to pick it, might buy a new one now as it gets really annoying. Sometimes it does take ages to drip too, and it all comes out in one go!:j Ready to take control of my life! :j

The only thing I can think of that might stop it is to take out the diffuser that is fitted in the outlet of the spout. I might have a go at that over the weekend.
If you only open the tap part way and not fill the tube up, the air lock does not happen.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
same thing happens to our bathroom basin tap.
but not just after using it, it hapens sometime later!
was very disconcerting indeed.
got used to it now.Get some gorm.0 -
