mackenzie hall/vanquis

Hi all I am new to the forum so I hope you can help and advise me.

I have a debt with vanquis (yes I should have known better) for £446.85 which has been passed to Mackenzie hall,I have sent them a e-mail offering them £25 per month as I am presently on JSA and this is all I can afford.

A few hours later I receive a e-mail back from them saying that my offer is not acceptable and that they want me to complete and return a statement of income and expenditure which I feel is none of their business.

I then e-mailed them back explaining my situation that this is all I can afford, they then come back to me asking me to send them my most recent letter from the JSA then they will review my offer of payment (do I send them information from the JSA which has confidential information such as my NI number etc?,no I dont think so.)

I would like to know where I stand now?, I have offered them what I can afford and they have turned this down,I also feel that they are doubting me - I am worried that this will escalate and I will either get a CCJ or one of their boneheads knocking at my door.

You can play it one of two ways.

Either you can write to them, recorded delivery, stating that your final offer is £25 per month until the debt is cleared (and include your first payment with that letter, to show committment).

Or, you fill in their statement of affairs questionnaire, and wait to see what they say. They might let you pay less than £25 a month.

One thing is for sure, it will certainly escalate if you don't take one of these routes.

Op NI's are not that hard to find, not that they can do much with it. If you don't help them, to help you.....
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • Hi, I have a letter from Mackenzie Hall (but with my middle initial incorrect) asking to confirm residence at this address. I know I have no recent debts and have actually only lived at this address for 2 years. Am I safe to ignore the letter?
