Paid off from Paper Round

My daughter, 16, had a newspaper delivery round from November 2011 until Saturday 21st July. She received a phone call on Monday 9th July informing her that her round was going to end as it was "not cost effective".
Whilst I was sat having a cup of tea today I saw a young lad ride by on a bike with a similar newspaper bag over his shoulder and wondered if there was any connection with him to the newspapers still being delivered so I went and knocked on a door of one of the people she used to deliver to and asked if he was still having his newspaper delivered, which he is.
Her round may have been incorporated into other rounds being done by people under the age of 16 where the minimum wage does not have to be paid - who knows.
Has she been treat fairly?

She has been doing the job for less than twelve months, whether she has been treated fairly or not is irrelevant, she has no rights.
Have you asked the newsagent about the boy you saw? Incorporating two rounds into one would seem the most logical explanation.0 -
Probably not, but c'est la vie.
Where was it written that people should be treated fairly?Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

She was employed by the company who print the newspapers and not a newsagent and no I haven't as I cannot be sure that he was delivering where she used to, he may have just been passing through which is why I spoke to one of the householders instead.0 -
I recall there was a wholesale cull in Southampton where the publishers gave the distribution contract to TNT, terminating their existing delivery folk.
Whilst the manner in which it was done as shabby, no 'rights' were infringed.0 -

As long as the people at the top are making a happy buck or two it doesn't matter how the people at the bottom are treat.

Yep, like I said that's life.
I've recently learned a lesson about how intolerably unfair the world is but like most things there is beggar all you can do about it.Thinking critically since 1996....0
