builders tomorrow

This is just a random moan. Sorry that's 2 from me in one week :o

Anyway tomorrow we have builders coming. This is going to be a nightmare because they are going to take up the living room floor. I am meant to be emptying the wall unit but I am not very motivated and have only made a mess :o

Then later we have to put ALL the furniture outside. This is our only reception room, kitchen isn't that big and is quite crowded. oh, and all the accumulated crap in the understairs cupboard.

Then comes the problem of what we are to do when we can't go in the lounge and this is likely to take a few days.

It's all scaring me and apathy has set in. I don't care anymore and I want to go to bed!

I can't even really complain to the LL because the floor is collapsing in places and he's right having it fixed its just inconvenient. Also he's the nicest LL so don't want to moan at him!

Thank you all for listening to me (or reading) :)

make a campsite in the bedrooms for the duration and enjoy the chaos :D!

you have my sympathy though, I need to dismantle DD's bed and take up the carpet, paint the walls etc before Friday when the new carpet is being fitted. Can I be bothered? Nope (but I will need to get my butt in gear).

I'm glad its not just me then!

We have to do the 3 girls bedroom this holiday too... That's replace the whole lot plus floor (the whole house was floored with hardboardy stuff) I'm dreading that one.

Make lots of tea and coffee and be really nice, bacon rolls at lunch go down a treat. In my experience happy builders make the experience much better for you and them!

I had two homes fitted with central heating (like you, thanks landlord) suck it up, keep your LL and the builders sweet within reason. Good luck, it is horrendous at the time.
Sadly, you don't have any badges yet but keep trying! See what you could get........... oh boo hoo I am crying into my wine. :D

With 5 girls I would [STRIKE]pay[/STRIKE] encourage them to help. At least the weather has turned now and should stay nice until the weekend, so hopefully the furniture will be fine.

Oh I know the builders from when they did the kitchen floor late last year, they had the whole kitchen out  and they are very nice and did a good job. I bought them posh mince pies last time :rotfl:

I will have to see what I can find this time.

Eta luckily 3 of them are away from tomorrow afternoon till weds afternoon just leaving the smaller 2.

I am thanking my lucky stars on the weather!
