Hello,
Me and my boyfriend are viewing a couple of rental properties tonight.
We have been waiting a while until we could afford to move in together and so we are both very excited, but I want to make sure we don't miss any potential problems in our excitement!
We have both rented before but only student houses, where the landlords have already been pre-approved by university services etc.
This is our first time as "grown-ups"! :j
Anyway, is there anything specific we should be looking out for when looking round the property? The only things I can think of are damp and mold.
Thanks in advance

No problem!
It is easy to miss things - there's such a wealth of information here that you need endless hours to read it all.

...as long as it is fairly smart0 -
If I were a landlord and was presented with a smartly dressed couple and a scruffily dressed couple, I know who my preference for the tenancy would be!The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Thanks everyone. I dressed smartly and comfortably
In the end, the viewings of the two flats we really liked were cancelled (the tenants changed their plans in one of them and then the agent couldn't find the keys for the other!) so we only saw one flat which was very nice but not quite what we were looking for. Never mind, I'm sure we'll find others soon!Sealed pot challenge 5 #18220
