Tax credits.... ???

Hi I have just received my new award notice. It is aprox £50 less than last year.. I thought we landed in the bracket that didn't get effected or maybe even benefited from the budget...
I have also used their calculator an this shows different amount to which I have been awarded... Should I phone and check although they have our yearly income correct..

Me and husband have joint income of £28323 he works 40+ hours and me 18.

3 children one of which turns 16in October but is still at school until next year (one of the oldest in the class due to how the birthday falls)

No child care they have awarded us £2878.78

When I use their calculator it gives the figure of £3030.00 and that is from now until April not even the whole year...

Our income has increased by aprox £1600 since previous year and they state they have already paid £1436 from this current award....

Sound about right? Or worth a call??

I make the figure higher than what is on your award notice.

Have a look at the middle page of the notice. It should show which elements are included and for how many days each element is paid for and the reduction due to income.

Can you post the information it shows there? You will find it much easier to call if you know where the problem is.

That makes more sense, so the 2878 figure you were quoting is what is left to be paid for the year, not your entitlement for the year which is £4305.

If they have actually paid you 1436 from April then yes it is right. Only you would know that by checking your bank.
