Kitchen - Colour theme - will this work?

I am having cream cabinets and a wooden worktop. I have a white belfast sink, a silver oven and silver dishwasher. The walls will be green.

I want to see if a black chimney hood will work. I was initially going with stainless steel, but the one on offer has gone and there is a black one for a fraction of the price...

this is the basic layout:

The stainless steel would look miles better to my eyes.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

I tend to agree with the stainless steel, especially as you already have silver appliances in the kitchen. I managed to get a practically brand new extractor from eBay for £50, so it maybe worth having a look to see if there are any near you.

Yes it will look good if you buy black small appliances
    I'm not that way reclined

Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!

Agree with stainless steel, black will be too much of a contrast against the other mellow colours.

Another stainless steel vote here too, might be ok to have a black hood if you had a gas on glass hob though. But as you are looking on price this will probably not be a runner as gas on glass hobs are more expensive than a stainless ones. Otherwise one black appliance will stand out like a sore thumb.

Neighbours have a black hood and it stands out way too strongly in my personal opinion (White cupboards, white walls, dark granite worktops and silver/white appliances). Stainless gets my vote too; it's elegant, less likely to fall out of fashion and also is more sympathetic to a variety of styles and decors.
