Urgent Help needed benefits advice .

Hi.
I wonder if someone can help me. I'm currently on JSA and was wondering if there any other benefits I could clam for depression. If there is any other benefits I can clam . would I need a letter from my doctor ? in order to clam the benefit(s) I hope you can help.

    In principle, there are two main ones.
    DLA - Disability Living Allowance - is given for those that have care or mobility needs.
    Very severe depression may lead to an award of at least some of the care component.
    Then there is ESA, which is employment and support allowance.
    Again, severe depression may lead to an award.
    You claim ESA instead of JSA.

    You would in both cases need far, far more than a doctors note.
    You would likely (though this will vary if you can provide other evidence) have to go to a face to face medical where your condition will be examined.
