Factory direct flooring - anybody used them?

Very tempted by their prices but, having never heard of them, wondered if any of you have used them and how you rate the quality of their cheaper laminates.

which one do you mean, I know I've used one before but there are 2 very similar!

I'm really pleased with my laminate floor anyways think it was from a site with a blue logo if that helps.

Best advice is to shop around for the best deals like free shipping cuz some of the shipping costs are a joke particularly if you live in a remote area.

I found it really difficult to compare like for like sometimes because of the way some of the flooring websites are layed out but i guarantee is you'll find it cheaper online as opposed to the highstreet rip offs!

i've used discountflooringdepot.co.uk and got a good deal on some balterio laminate flooring for the hallway and living room.

Their prices were better than the above and they didn't charge for the samples although they took a few days more than expected to come but was happy with what i received and decided to go ahead.

Came a few days later i had to take the day off as they use a courier to deliver but from trawling through other sites with my wife for hours on end looking for the 'right' floor that seems to be the norm (suppose that's why its alot cheaper on the internet other than normal retailers as well)

I looked at a few other sites out their like uk flooring direct but i found their pricing difficult to follow and i looked at some of the customer reviews and their replies put me off.

i did get some underlay from another website but i cant remember what it was called there's so many out there!

Like anything search around there's pleanty of deals to be had!

I have heard that Balterio laminate is just as good as Quickstep and cheaper - can you give an opinion on that?

I can't say 100% for sure if one is better than the other as i have only used Balterio and Kronospan (not in this house though in my last flat) never any quckstep products. That being said it can be difficult to compare like for like on flooring products as in my particular case i was looking for a teak effect with an AC4 heavy domestic rating and good warranty (25 years for domestic) which you get with the Balterio traditon range looks fantastic in the living room but it really comes down to personal taste at the end of the day and the budget you have to spend.

I have just looked at the quickstep range on flooringsupplies.co.uk and i honestly think looking at the information on there with regard to warranty and wear etc. The Balterio ranges seem to me to be more cost effective but as i say i've never actually used it so could be wrong and if anyone can point out a like for like quickstep product i'd like to see it. My daughter is thinking of getting her bedroom in her flat done so it would be worthwhile looking at.
