item not delivered

hi all

i bought two items from the same seller using my ebay voucher they were giving away one of the items was recieved the day after being dispatched this was on the 12'th. I am however still waiting for one of the items. i have contacted the seller and they said they will be willing to refund if it doesn't arrive, but where will i stand if this happens am i right in assuming that the voucher will be refunded to ebay and i then lose out? thanks in advance for any replies.

P.S has anyone had an item take ages to arrive but it does eventually turn up? as i am willing to wait abit longer to see if it turns up if the voucher amount will be refunded to ebay

Unfortunately you will lose out on the voucher, yes. You will get what you actually paid back, but AFAIK the voucher has gone.

There is a good chance that your item will still turn up. Only about a fifth of the items I've had to ask sellers about - that is, two in the last two years - have actually never materialised at some stage. I've always repaid if I've been refunded or paid for replacements I've had in the mean time, but there is a chance that the item is never going to turn up.

You could wait until the last possible minute to raise a claim (day 44 after payment) if you want to give the item time to come. Under normal circumstances I'd personally have waited long enough for it, but if you don't want to lose your voucher, maybe hang on another couple of weeks and then claim as definitely lost.
