Killing tree roots and stumps - tips pls

Recently chopped a load of conifers down and left with stumps up to a diameter of 25cm. At the same time also chopped a huge ivy infestation which has a stump of over a foot!!
These are on a neighbours side of a fence but as part of relaying the fence we agreed that I could chop these down. I'd prefer to take as much of the root as possible but they won't budge (the neighbour not the root).
I drilled lots of holes in the stumps and poured some root killing solution from B&Q into them and they've turned a lovely orange colour.
Has anyone got any experience whether this is it likely to work please?

We did the same thing with root kill. Fresh shoots started to grow back the next year we cut them off and there hasn't been any growth at all this year. It will take years and years for the stumps to rot but I'm not in a hurry for that. I think it should work but if you do get regrowth might be worth drilling again and using more root kill.0

I just use a bottle jack and jack them out, simple and easy enough as long as you put the base of jack onto a good solid lump of wood.0

I think you will find that most, if not all conifers, don't re-grow from a blind stump.0

Yes it is deciduous trees that regrow, although the Holly trees I chopped off at the base have been sprouting merrily for months, even though I used a club hammer and wedge to split the stumps.
I believe those stump killer chemicals are just glyphosate with a higher price.Warning: This forum may contain nuts.0
