Holiday pay entitalment

Hi I have been in my job for 14 years . I have just been told that previous years my holiday pay has been miss calculated . So I have now been told this . I work 60 hours per month so I am entitaled to 78 hours per year holiday I get time and a half for Saturday and double time for Sunday and normal time for Friday . They have now worked out with me working a Sunday they are classing it as 12 hour and a Saturday as 9 hours so taking it away from my 78 hours a year entitalment so that works out as 3 and a half weeks per year . Bank holidays are on days that I don't work except good Friday so I get a day off for that but that is only 6 hours . Is this right thank you

I think I understand what you are saying and taking more holiday hours based on pay rate is wrong
I think you need to be more specific on your working hours per week/month/year.
also any paid time not taken from the allowance

Thanks, I work every Sunday , every other Saturday and every Friday 6 hours per day I was transferred over to another company with my contract so my co worker who arrived after me is not entitled to the double time on Sundays and time and a half on Saturdays0

Forgot to mention,
The starting point for any holidays is that statutoy holidays should be 5.6 weeks.
any calculation that does it in days hours, prorata(ing), bank holidays is all based around this basic statutory allowance(adjusted for full timers allocations if more).0 -

What if you want to take 2 weeks off?
You'd have more hours taken from you on one week, as you work alternate Sundays?
Like getmore4less said, the statutory is 5.6 weeks.
From what you're saying now, you would have to choose whether to take off a week where you work the Sunday, or a week you don't work the Sunday to see if you'd have enough hours to cover you?

So that equates to 26*18+26*12 which is average 65hrs per month or 60hrs per 4 weeks or 15hr per week on average.
minimum holiday is 5.6 weeks so 84 hours.

edit: went to fix previous post.
Now they should not be taking more hours from the allowance for Sat and Sun they should be adjusting pay.
What they probably should be doing is using average weekly pay to work out the hourly rate for holidays.
Since you have a 2week cycle this will be
2 sun + 2 fri + 1 sat averaged
(12*2+12*1+6*1.5)/30 45/30 so 1.5 per hour taken.0 -

They were correct before - having rounded up hours to the nearest whole.
Calculation 60 hours * 12 months / 52 weeks * 5.6 = 77.5385 hours annual leave.
Being paid time-and-a-half or double time or any other multiple doesn't affect the number of hours holiday to which you are entitled. The holiday is based on your worked hours.
What could change is the amount of money you are paid for those hours. I expect they are going to say the time is paid at the base rate, not the enhanced pay.0 -

The hours are wrong because it is 60hrs per 4 weeks not per month
They have to use actual pay as the base for the holiday pay(as this is not overtime hours) average is 1.5 which works fo any full weekends they take off, but can cause an issue if they decide to take all fridays or sundays.
actualy since the hours per day are the same working out in days is fine, 5.6 weeks at average of 2.5 days per week so 14 days.0
