I'm desperate for my partner and I to have a holiday abroad next year and just wondered what was the cheapest holiday abroad other people have had...did you book in advance or last minute, where did you go, was it good, etc etc.
We usually like to stay well away from typical tourist spots. Will consider going pretty much anywhere

Our short break in Marrakech was the cheapest we had - booked flights with easyjet, the riad direct online and ate out cheaply too.0

We booked flights to Lanzarote with Ryanair, £145 return for both of us late April, and self catering in the Elena Apartments, Puerto Del Carmen, for £140 per apartment per week, so £285 for both of us 7 days in Lanzarote.0

Tallinn. Return flights from Edinburgh were less than £20 and the hotel was £30 per night. So 3 days came to £65 each.0

The last minute option is USUALLY more expensive these days.0

We were so poor clung to the landing gear and stayed in a cardboard box on the beach for ten bob.

When I say a beach, it were a sand pit in local infants school.0 -
Went camping last year in Greece, in August during the school holidays.
Flights (scheduled, Aegean, Heathrow to Athens) were £140 return including taxes. Flights were booked the previous October.
Camping was €10/night, we just turned up.
Avoided the tourist spots. In three weeks, we could count on one hand the number of English people we met.
So three weeks in August for 4 of us worked out less than £200 each.0 -
we had 3 days in algarve in Feb for £67 each. flights RYANAIR from Edinburgh were £32 .apartments, Pateo Village were £25 for the 3 days. and the transfers were £10 rtn
Cheapest place Ive stayed (Excluding Freebies) was Marmaris Beach Hotel (now called Natalies) which was £1 per night including breakfast one October. Right on the beach too.0 -
There are two main troughs in demand, one is in mid May between the bank hols and the other is early October, do you fancy going in either of those?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
