Sky's 'free filmfour for a month' - things to note

Not sure whether this is typical of the fee offers run by Sky from time to time, but just in case you're tempted in the future...
I signed up for a free filmfour month on 3 march, following details published in the March Sky mag. This was promptly added to our channel package.
I've just called sky to cancel following the free month (which still has 2 days to run), to be told the following:
1: I need to call back on the 3rd of April as the system will not let me cancel beforehand.
2: I will be billed the full price for Filmfour this month (April) as the billing always works a month ahead
3: My account will be rebated by the cost of 1 month's Filmfour subscription in May.
The last time we took up this offer some months ago, all I did was call them a few days before the end of the free month and the channels were cancelled.
There are no caveats listed in the Sky promotional materials stating that this is a rebate offer, so although the month IS technically free, you still end up paying extra in the month after you cancel.
Seems cheeky to me - Just be aware!
