I txt my landlady and not only did she agree straight away but she's also getting the carpets from somewhere alot more upmarket that I had been planning on when i'd been checking online! So thanks again0

I clean my carpets myself about every two years with a fairly cheap VAX cleaner. They do not come up as new, but it diffinitely extends the life of the carpet, and when you empty the cleaner and see the gunge that is lifted you know that it is worthwhile. Important in my experience that you do it only in the summer so that it can open all the windows and doors to dry the carpets out and also that you thoroughly hoover the carpet before cleaning and when the carpet has dried out after cleaning.0
